Things are moving fast at DeeTa, and this Saturday at HQ feels like a big one.

There’s been a real sense of progress behind the scenes today. A lot of groundwork has gone in to get us to this point, and we’re genuinely thankful for the support, encouragement, and interest from across the engineering sector.

Phase One is now active and moving forward at pace, with Paul Sutcliffe having reached out to a select group of engineers to form the DeeTa Founder Development Group. As part of this lean start, 20 engineers have been chosen from across the applicant pool to help steer the future of DeeTa. It’s a big step forward for a trade association built around dental equipment engineering, technical service, and practical standards that actually work in the real world.

A Lean Start

The aim is simple: keep it focused, useful, and engineer-led.

This founder group has been kept deliberately small so the early structure of DeeTa can be shaped by people who understand the day-to-day realities of equipment support, compliance, and technical service. Out of all the applicants, 20 have been chosen to help steer the future of DeeTa. No fluff. No oversized committees. Just experienced engineers helping build something solid.

How It Will Work

Founders will help guide the early framework for DeeTa, including priorities around standards, training, and industry support.

A key principle is collaboration. No one "owns" an area on their own. The goal is to pair up experience, compare approaches, and build practical guidance that reflects real engineering work across the sector.

All founders have also been asked to sign a Confidentiality & NDA Agreement so early discussions can stay focused while the structure is being developed properly.

Why It Matters

DeeTa is being built to support the engineering side of the industry with:

  1. Engineer-led direction
  2. Practical technical standards
  3. Shared knowledge and collaboration
  4. Stronger training and support

We’re genuinely grateful for the support so far. The response has been brilliant, and we’re keeping our feet on the ground while we build this properly.

Phase Two

While Phase One is in full swing and gaining momentum, we’re also preparing for Phase Two.

This next stage will open things up to suppliers involved in dental equipment engineering. The goal is to bring more of the sector into the conversation, strengthen the network around technical service, and keep building DeeTa in a way that is practical, useful, and grounded in real industry experience.

What’s Next?

Over the coming weeks, founder feedback will continue to shape DeeTa as Phase One moves forward, while Phase Two begins to take shape in parallel.

Thanks again to everyone backing this early journey. We appreciate it more than you know.

We’ll share more updates soon. In the meantime, you can follow progress at http://deeta.co.uk.

We’re building the future of dental equipment engineering one step at a time.
